Standard Process for Admitting Members
After prospective members accept an invitation to join, they will have to go through the two day orientation process at the Club. On the first day, typically a Tuesday evening, they will fill out required paperwork, pay required dues and fees, and listen to safety and orientation talks. Prospective members will then be given a take home test on club rules.
Prospective members will then return to the Club about a week later for testing and remedial training, if necessary. Written tests handed out on the first day of orientation will be graded. Those who pass will move on to the practical live-fire evaluation. Prospective members will have to qualify with club supplied handguns and rifles. They will be evaluated for marksmanship, safe gun handling, and ability to follow club rules. Those who pass the practical evaluation will be given their membership cards and be free to leave. Those that do not pass initially will be given additional instruction and will be retested afterwards. Those who fail to demonstrate the ability to handle firearms safely and follow Club rules will not be admitted!
Note that anyone who accepts an invitation to new member training and then fails to show when scheduled without notifying the Club in advance will be dropped from the wait list.
Prospective members must show proof of NRA membership at the orientation. Those who are not already members may join the NRA at the orientation. The cost is $10 for a one year membership without NRA publications. The cost is $35 if you wish to receive NRA magazines. Payment for NRA membership must be made separately from Club fees by check or credit card only.
