The Junior Smallbore program (aka “Juniors”) is important to the future of shooting sports and the club itself. The program offers a developmental path that builds young shooters’ interest in marksmanship, sportsmanship and competition. Juniors can enter the program at age 14 to learn gun safety and shooting skills and prepare for regional and national matches. Rimfire shooters use .22 Long Rifle on the 50-foot Indoor Range. Guns, gear and match protocols all follow International Shooting Sports Federation guidelines. The club owns several match-quality rifles that Juniors can use at the range, so a big up-front investment isn’t necessary for beginners.
